Mary Dejevsky

Mary Dejevsky writes on international affairs, the EU, the US, also on UK politics and society and is one of the country’s most respected commentators on Russia, the EU and the US.
Mary has worked as a foreign correspondent all over the world, including Washington, Paris and Moscow. She was The Times leader writer on foreign affairs, Moscow bureau chief and correspondent in the period 1988-1992 (during perestroika).
She is now the chief editorial writer and a columnist at The Independent, a columnist at The Guardian, and regularly appears on radio and television.
She is a member of the Valdai Group, invited since 2004 to meet Russian leaders each autumn, and a member of the Chatham House think-tank.
She is a past honorary research fellow at the University of Buckingham and contributed the introductory essay to The Britannica Guide to Russia.
